On May 6th Horn Group’s New York office participated in the annual Revlon Run/Walk for Women’s Cancers. Despite the bad weather predictions and being Cinco De Mayoed out from the night before, the 5k event turned out to be a great success.
Outfitted in our gray Horn Group team shirts and official racing numbers pinned to our backs, our team, which not only included employees but friends and family were up bright and early for the 9:15 a.m. start time.
It was inspiring and exciting to be among the 40,000+ people that turned up in Times Square in support for finding a cure and being amidst a sea of team signs, pink survivor hats and touching memorial signs. Music played at the start line and confetti was released in encouragement as the run/walk began. Those of us who ran or jogged took off along the side lines dodging around the many people, but met up with our entire group at the end of the course at the top of Central Park where the closing festivities took place.
As for the fundraising part, team Horn Group met our office fundraising goal by raising $1,500--that’s not including the entry fees even, which also go directly to the charity to support cancer research, treatment and prevention.
Special thanks everyone who participated or donated to the worthwhile charity and for making the run/walk such a great event.
