Of course we are all most thankful for our families, friends and all loved ones, but I thought I'd ask if anyone had any professional Thanksgiving thoughts today. Here are a few:
“I’m thankful for a continually evolving profession. As the market, editorial and Internet landscape continues to change, it offers unlimited opportunities for communications professionals’ growth. I’m excited by the changes I’ve already seen take place in the last few years and can’t wait to see what the future holds.” Boston colleague
"Personally, I'm thankful for being in a space that is so exciting and fast-paced right now. It's fascinating to all the shifting and morphing that is taking place with companies in our industry like Interactive, eBay and Google who are spending hundred of millions of dollars on start-ups like MySpace, Skype and YouTube (especially when you recognize the fact that these companies have a huge marketing presence and cult-like followings, but they aren't actually making money). I think it'll be really interesting to see where these businesses end up in the next five years or so and it's exhilarating to work in a position where we're directly affected by some of those outcomes." San Francisco colleague
"Blogging, Email, Digg, RSS Feeds, and increased number of Freelance Journalists." New York colleague.
And something that became very clear when we all got together for our company offsite this summer - I am thankful to be working with such a distinguished group of smart, innovative and very caring cadre of professionals.
And of course everyone is thankful the bosses are letting us out early today.
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
