About John O'Brien
John O'Brien brings over seven years of experience in public relations and broadcast journalism to the Horn Group. John has led and managed several successful media relations programs for clients in the Software-as-a-Service industry and recently advanced Horn Group's "green" practice with his work on launching Sirona Fuels, a Bay Area biodiesel producer. Prior to joining Horn Group, John handled various media relations duties for HD DVD in the volatile high-definition 'format war' and also worked on several Microsoft accounts including Microsoft Consumer Media Technologies and Microsoft Content Access and Protection. He has also worked across several "green" accounts, including PetroAlgae, a company he placed in Time Magazine's Top 100 Green Companies in 2008. Prior to his work in the PR industry, John worked at CNN headquarters as a writer, producer, editor and contributing reporter for CNN in Atlanta, GA. He reported over 15 stories ranging from robotic technology to world affairs that appeared on CNN, CNN International, Headline News and CNN.com. As an intern in 2002, John worked for the Emmy winning news parody the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
