Time in the Kitchen with God's Love We Deliver
Recently representatives from our New York office lent our hands and elbow grease to God’s Love We Deliver, a charity organization not far from our office that delivers over 24,000 healthy meals per week to ailing and needy New Yorkers. We were stationed in the kitchen, in charge of assembling over 850 meals for delivery that night, as well as chopping 100 pounds of carrots and onions to prep for the next group of volunteers.
Because of GLWD’s kitchen limitations only a small faction from our office could participate, but we had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return.
Many thanks to Kate Suhr, our kitchen guide KJ (who gave us our day’s catchphrase, “Shake it til’ you can’t shake no’ mo.”), and the rest of the team on Sixth Avenue for making our time in the GLWD kitchen so enjoyable. Thank you for the opportunity to join in your tireless efforts.

By the time we got to their summer house in Vittskövle, the landscape had been transformed. On one side of the house, farms and bales of hay; on the other, a thick forest and a castle. I didn’t speak any Swedish at this point, and I had trouble following the conversation that took place as the picnic basket was unpacked, more family members introduced themselves, and lunch was set in motion.
