Horn Group worked with client Buddy Media to host a Tweet Up at the much buzzed about Manhattan BBQ joint Hill Country this past Wednesday. In this “real time” media world, posting today almost feels like the event is already ancient news, but it’s not.
The event was to celebrate the launch of Buddy Media’s newest offering, the Twitter Management System, which allows brands advertisers to “identify, analyze and engage based on Twitter trends and conversations versus their competitors,” as Ed Barrera of Adotas wrote in his roundup of the event.
TechCrunch, who certainly has seen their fair share of brand analytics, monitoring and engagement offerings, went so far as to call it, “The Ultimate Twitter Client For Brand Management.” In the story, reporter Leena Rao wrote, “Buddy Media is fast becoming a digital branding powerhouse.”
Another thing we gathered to celebrate was the addition of Wine Library TV host and partner of VaynerMedia.com Gary VaynerChuk to the Buddy Media Board of Advisers. Gary lives and breathes social media, to the tune of growing his wine distribution company into a $60m business.
When you host a Tweet Up in “Silicon Alley” – a neighborhood name created in light of its concentration of tech and media companies – offer up a few free drinks, the presence some well known “didgerati” such as the aforementioned Mr. Vaynerchuk and Buddy Media CEO Michael Lazerow, and overall just a good excuse to bring people together, a sizeable crowd you will have, as was evidenced by the packed house.
MediaPost “Just An Online Minute” columnist Kelly Samardak chronicled the night much better than we ever could. You can read her column here.
