Thoughts on Blogger Dinner With Charlene Li and Josh Bernoff
[Robin Carey from Social Media Today, Charlene Li from Forrester, and me. Thanks to Douglas Pollei for the picture.]
I had the pleasure of joining Forrester analysts Josh Bernoff and Charlene Li last night for a blogger dinner in NYC.
Natali Del Conte from CNET was there and interviewed me about PR and social media. Bummer that it didn't make it into her final edit that was posted today, but if you scroll to about 2:30 in the video, you will see me chatting away in the background (on the left) as she speaks with Baratunde Thurston, Web Editor of the Onion.
Charlene and Josh are making the rounds to promote their excellent new book: Groundswell: Winning In a World Transformed By Social Technologies. In conjunction with the book launch (which officially hits May 1st) they've launched a powerful free tool, The Social Technographics Profile, which allows you to profile your customer base, and then develop a social technology strategy.
It seems that Forrester is leading the way in social media analysis and research. In addition to Charlene and Josh, Jeremiah Owyang is also contributing heavily in this area. Both his and the Groundswell blog are must reads for PR and marketing pros.
