There are some cool synergies going on with a webinar I am putting together next week with Horn Group client Register.com. I had been speaking with Anita Campbell, editor of SmallBizTrends.com, over the last few months about varied things like SMB business issues and survey research. I've long found Anita's site to be a great resource for small business and entreprenuerial motiviation and tips.
This past November Anita moderated a panel at NY Xpo for Business with Register.com VP of Customer Marketing Doug Shuman, Adi Sideman, CEO, Oddcast Inc. and Laura Allen, co-founder, 15 Second Pitch. The reaction was so positive, we decided to re-create the panel as a webinar.
Looking for a free and simple way to set this up, while allowing for maximum user participation and interaction, we decided to use TalkShoe, another Horn Group client that provides "community calling." Now, after a little bit of planning and schedule alignment, we've set up the webinar for January 24th at 2pm ET. The topic, while geared towards small and medium business, is something relevant for almost all business: how to convert Web site visitors to customers.
The cool thing, from a PR perspective, is how there was no real "pitching" that went on to make this happen. It is all about delivering valuable information to an interested audience.
