Exciting times over here at Horn Group (warning, self-serving post). For those of you who read my personal blog and for any folks who have already picked up the latest PRWeek you have already discovered the exciting news. Horn Group has been chosen as the PR partner for World Energy Solutions. On my blog I wrote a bit about the challenges lying ahead of all PR folks when it comes to Green PR:
The challenge is one I have not faced before in my career; establish a company within an extremely talked about market, while still avoiding the pitfalls of highly volatile political, social and economical environments AND educate people on what is real and what is perception. Eh gads!
Most of you are thinking “Stop whining, I wish we had the level of attention for our client’s industry.” And that is exactly what I thought initially. But as we did more and more research we realized how much hype and hyperbole is involved in communicating green. We’ve had to be real creative in gaining the attention of the national media and bloggers; otherwise all the attention will go to the companies who are building a car that runs strictly on the sweet tears of babies.
I also asked folks for their recommendations in this market and we have already seen some great information. I would welcome you all to comment here as well, the more we are able to understand this market the better off we will all be; personally and professionally.
