What? You don't have tech clients that need you for an evening at the legendary House of Blues? Not to hang out with them...to "work it" with them?
I've written before about our wonderful pro-bono client, Little Kids Rock, an organization that helps keep music in the public schools by providing guitars, keyboards, drums and accompanying instruction.
Little Kids Rock was the beneficiary of this amazing auction and concert that brought me to Los Angeles last week. The event was put together to honor the memory of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the Pantera guitarist who was murdered on-stage by a crazed fan a few years back. 60 electric guitars, handpainted by famous artists and musicians were auctioned off. That was followed by a concert featuring performances by Navarro, Alice in Chains, Vinnie Paul and several others. Little Kids Rock kids from Venice High School brought down the house when they opened the show...can you imagine being just a kid in high school, and performing on stage at the House of Blues in LA?
Here they are again(below) posing with Alice in Chains.
Little Kids Rock Executive Director David Wish was thrilled with the outcome...We don't have the exact figures yet, but the money raised was somewhere in the neighborhood of a quarter-million dollars, or enough to reach 12 hundred new Little Kids Rock students.
